From Finance to Tech Sales - Lennart's Journey with hyrise
Shifting career paths demands courage and determination, but it can result in a more satisfying professional life. Lennart Eckel's story is a success story for today. His transition from finance to tech sales demonstrates the significant impact of embracing change and pursuing new opportunities.
Before hyrise
Lennart, a 29-year-old from Dortmund, started his career with a 2.5-year apprenticeship as a bank clerk. This was followed by a trainee program in corporate management, specializing in HR and controlling. At only 21, he assumed the role of HR manager and training supervisor, an experience that significantly influenced his early career.
Later on, Lennart went on to become a self-employed financial advisor, a role he held for four years. However, he eventually felt the urge to venture into a new industry. Despite the merits of the finance sector, Lennart found himself longing for a change and a fresh start.
One day, while browsing Jodel, Lennart read about someone who transitioned from the insurance industry to the tech sector. After a brief exchange with this person, he discovered hyrise.
💡 Fun Fact: Lennart describes himself as a "passionate console athlete” and has participated in several tournaments. Lennart also enjoys playing football and spending time with his large family. Interestingly, he was offered a chance to become a professional ice hockey player in sixth grade but chose to stick with football, his true passion.
Lennart's Experience with hyrise
During the COVID-19 pandemic, increased reflection time and growing dissatisfaction led Lennart to pursue a career in the tech industry, a field he always found fascinating and exciting. He felt that, unlike in finance, he could be his authentic self in tech.
Lennart embarked on his job search with an open mind, not limiting himself to a particular type of company. The process was efficient, resulting in six to seven job proposals and interviews with two companies. Feeling comfortable with the team and having colleagues with whom he could communicate as equals was important to him. Ryte, a dynamic company from Munich, stood out, offering a vibe that matched his immediately.
“I was well-supported during the job search, and everything was great. I have already recommended hyrise to others and will continue to do so.”
Since January Lennart has been working remotely at Ryte. He thoroughly enjoys his work, feels highly motivated, and is very satisfied in his new role.
A New Chapter in Tech Sales
Thanks to hyrise, Lennart secured a new job in a different industry and now works remotely from home. This change has made it possible for him to consider getting a dog, a prospect that would have been impossible without a home office. Overall, Lennart mentions hyrise has had a huge positive impact on his life.
