3 Years After hyrise: From SDR to Revolut’s First Mid-Market AE

Before hyrise

Before joining hyrise, Gleb explored a variety of roles, gaining experience across different industries. He worked in a warehouse, took on various temporary and part-time jobs, and even ventured into self-employment. His first exposure to customer engagement came through direct sales in the energy sector, which ultimately sparked his enthusiasm for working with people and building relationships.

Gleb’s Experience with hyrise

His life took a turn when he discovered hyrise through an Instagram ad. Drawn to the possibility of a fresh start, he quickly applied—and within just two weeks, he landed his first tech sales role. This position as an SDR marked the beginning of a career path that would lead to extraordinary growth.

He joined Operations One and found the hiring process refreshingly "straightforward." hyrise stood out by offering direct access to decision-makers early on, eliminating the usual drawn-out, multi-round interviews.

Two factors drew Gleb to sales: the earning potential and the opportunity to conquer his fear of public speaking—a fear that vanished completely after working in tech sales. The SDR role's structure of earning bonuses for booking meetings provided immediate rewards, which motivated him strongly in his early career.

Gleb’s Career in Tech Sales

After his time at Operations One, Gleb made a significant leap in his career by joining Revolut as an Account Executive. This role marked a major step up, as he took on full ownership of the sales process—building his own pipeline, onboarding clients, and ensuring their ongoing engagement with Revolut’s services.

Within just a year and a half, Gleb achieved remarkable milestones. After demonstrating exceptional skills and consistent performance, he was promoted to Mid-Market Account Executive, a groundbreaking role as the first of its kind in Revolut’s history. This promotion came with increased responsibilities, including managing high-potential clients in Western Europe.

Throughout his career, Gleb earned two promotions and three salary increases while advancing through the tech sales ranks. His swift rise demonstrates his drive, adaptability, and focus on results.
